Yay! It's good to be home! :)
I had a great trip. It was so much fun! :) The first night we ended up camping outside the Canadian border (customs up by Dawson city closes at 8, damn!) Six of us smashed into a five person tent. That was interesting. Roll over and see my sister who looks dead when she sleeps or roll over the other way and come face to face with Gwyd. He snores. So does my sister...
Anyway, the next night we got into Dawson city and did the tourist thing. That was a lot of fun. Apparently all the good looking men are in Dawson city, Canada. There was this one guy that came out of the bank shirtless... wow! He smirked at me because I was trying to point him out to my sister, then Dea told me I shouldn't objectify people. I can't help that he was hot!
Next day we headed for Whitehorse and camped halfway there... or tried. There were these flying ants that were trying to kill us and diveboming us like something out of X-files. We went to a different campsite after that. Then we got to Whitehorse and checked into a hotel because we were all filthy and needed a shower. Walked around town, then watched Canadian music television all night (Much Music?).
It was so hot. Everyone slowly got nakeder as time passed. At one point I came out of the bathroom... Dea's as naked as Dea gets, Gwyd is passed out on the floor, Inanna is in her underwear and a shirt, my sister is in a tanktop and shorts so small you don't really notice them, and Mike is wearing nothing but his boxers. It was really hot that night.
Then we drove twelve hours home. :) I read a 'historical romance' novel to the people in my car on the way back. The book is basically "The Mummy," but with a lot more smut. The anthropology major who tends to focus on Egyptian civilization nearly choked on all the inaccuracies. :P
I really liked Whitehorse. It reminds me of how Anchorage was about ten years ago... before things really started going downhill. Though sometimes I wonder if things were really that good or was I just too young to really notice all the crap that was happening or was it a mix of the two.
In road construction do most people stay in their cars?
I was amused by the note saying: Alaska observes Alaska time.
Anyway, that's a brief synopsis of my trip. ;)
